About
IceTrackVault is a desktop music player for Windows and Linux, built specifically for figure skating competitions. While event organizers have long relied on iTunes — using templates and build procedures provided by US Figure Skating — setting up and managing the music creates a lot of extra work. IceTrackVault greatly reduces the heavy workload and tedious change management, streamlining the entire competition music workflow.
Here is how the application simplifies competition management:
🔄 Automated Event Management
- EMS Integration: Automatically loads music tracks and event data from EMS to build playlists instantly (EntryEeze support is planned for the future).
- Flexible Sequencing: Makes it simple to set the skater start order and adjust the overall event schedule on the fly.
- Project Dashboard: Manages multiple competition projects at the same time within a single interface.
🎛️ Specialized Music Player
- Visual Playback: Features an easy-to-use music player complete with a real-time waveform display.
- Asset Collections: Builds separate, permanent playlists outside of competition projects for assets like national anthems and background music.
🛠️ In-Competition Troubleshooting
- Track Corrections: Uploads and tags missing tracks, or replaces files due to incorrect uploads or technical bugs.
- Program Swaps: Instantly swaps tracks between events (e.g., if a skater's Short Program and Free Skate were accidentally reversed).
- Skater Roster Shifts: Moves competitors between different events seamlessly.
- Championship Playlists: Builds custom, dynamic playlists during the competition for championship rounds.
💾 Security & Portability
- Archive Backups: Backs up the entire project configuration and music files into a single archive for safety backups or easy transfer to another system.
Pre-built Windows and Linux installers are on GitHub Releases. macOS is not supported for end users today. Contributions from macOS developers who want to help enable macOS are welcome: open an issue or pull request on GitHub. See Build from source for prerequisites.
